Authority to Construct Permit

A written Authority to Construct shall be required to construct, erect, alter, modify, or replace any equipment which may cause, potentially cause, reduce, control or eliminate the issuance of air contaminants. A single Authority to Construct may be issued for all components of an integrated system or process. Plans and specifications drawn in accordance with acceptable engineering practices shall be required before issuance of an Authority to Construct.

Permit to Operate

A Permit to Operate may be required to operate any article, machine, equipment or other contrivance which causes or may cause the issuance of an air contaminant.  A current Authority to Construct Permit is required to apply for a Permit to Operate.

Burn Permits

Burn Permits are available during burn season.  Burn season starts when CalFire declares an end to fire season.  Permits are valid through April 30th, though some exemption burns may be authorized after May 1.  Contact the LCAQMD for options.

 

Burn permits may be purchased at your local Fire Protection District Office.  Contact your local FPD for office hours and purchase options.


Smoke Management Plans

Smoke Management plans are available during burn season.  Smoke Managemet Plans are for larger burns, prescribed fires, whole tree / vineyard removals, overnight burning, and sites that are likely to have or have previously received complaints.  Burn season starts when CalFire declares an end to fire season.  Permits are valid through April 30th, though some exemption burns may be authorized after May 1.  Contact the LCAQMD for options.
